Ajaysingh Bhadoriya (b. 1990), is a visual artist from Pune and is currently based in Santiniketan, West Bengal. In his decade spanning art practice, he has explored ceramic through various techniques. Today, the rawness of the medium is what explains his work the most. Starting from the very technical aspect of this medium, he learnt about ceramics while studying in Sir J.J School of art, Mumbai (2009-2013) where he began his art journey and got a degree in Bachelors in Fine Arts with a specialisation in Ceramics. It was during this time that he stated creating various colorful and compositional utility products in clay. During this period, he took great joy in learning the varied techniques in this medium which helped him in understanding the medium well and also in developing a great skill with the same.

He later went onto Kala Bhavana, Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan (2015-2017) to pursue Masters in Fine Arts specialising in Ceramic and Glass. It is then that he started experimenting with clay and produced a number of works which later became the foundation of his creative thinking process. These works were much different from the previous ones and were more inclined towards his surrounding elements which explained his thought process. During this time period, he also got the opportunity to study in France for a period of six months. It was during this period that he felt the need to be more creative rather than just being skillful. This was followed by another year in France (2018-2019) where he went again as an exchange student as a Krishnakriti fellow. Since then, he has been exploring ceramics by expressing his thoughts about his surrounding. His whole experience of working in this medium has given him many opportunities in India as well as in abroad to study as well as showcase his works at various platforms.

Currently, he is pursuing PhD in Ceramics and Glass from Visva Bharati University, Santiniketan (2021-2025) with the submission of his thesis scheduled in August 2025. During his time in this PhD course he got a residency in China (2024) which gave his practice a different and interesting direction. His works became more sensitive towards his surroundings as well as to the presence of humans. He started including himself through metaphors, poetry and images in his works. Now his area of interest lies in furthering the exploration of his surroundings by means of using objects and architectural elements while also talking about human presence and emotions. Over time he has developed a sensitive and poetic artistic language which is ever evolving.
